Official MAP16 Documentary Trailer & Poverty Panel

Yesterday, Johnny Taylor and I (Terence) got a chance to share a small piece of the #MAP16 journey with the public for the first time since we’ve been back from Washington, DC.

Additionally, we got a chance to share our “official” documentary trailer. Would you like to see it? Most of it was shot during the walk!

Hold on to your seats… It’s powerful.

66 Days Away – MAP16

Have you ever been put out of a public space because you were homeless? Have you ever been denied water because of how you looked? Or, Have you ever needed water because your water was cut off due to a lack of resources? Well, we created a free water bin so those who wrestle with poverty can have access to bottles of water. Why? Because it is a human right! This is why we are going to attempt ‪#‎MAP16‬! We are 67 DAYS AWAY!

Woodward Academy Serves With Us!

This past Saturday, we had a group of young men from Woodward Academy serve those who are homeless in the city of Atlanta with us. We built many wonderful relationships with our homeless friends, but more than that the young men walked away with a greater understanding of poverty and those living on the margins. One young man even said, “Those without homes in this city are stronger than people think.”

Amazing First Art Show – Dignity Art!

Last night was amazing! We had two of the four artist present, over 50 pieces of art, 80+ people in attendance, and over 50 pieces of art auctioned. Additionally, we had a few sponsors present like TreadStone Valuations, Cozzee Coffee, Reveal Magazine, and a powerful spoken word artist (Subject to Change).

It was an amazing experience. Below are a few photos from the event!10383570_933857876651378_5438921309282195327_n12106998_933914449979054_4087926244591816805_n12074794_934072826629883_3251670561494009926_n

Dignity Art

For the last year and a half, we have reached people from all walks of life! It has been an amazing journey, but recently God laid it upon our hearts to start working with guys transitioning out of homelessness in a different way! What way? I’m glad you asked. For the last two weeks, we have been showing guys how to take old reclaimed wood, and turn it into art – Dignity Art!

We have specifically worked with a guy named Bruce to build pieces of art, and allow our followers to make a bid toward those pieces (donating funds), and when the highest bidder wins, it creates an opportunity for us to compensate him for his work (employing him).

Below are a few pieces that he has designed, and two of his latest pieces. If you would like to learn more, email us at info@lovebeyondwalls.org or if you would like to have a phrase placed on wood, let us know!
